Caring for your knife:
This kitchen knife is made from hard carbon steel which produces a superior cutting edge that stays sharpe longer and is also easier to sharpen. However compared to softer 'stainless' steel knives a carbon steel knife needs a little more care: hand wash with soapy water and then dry with a towel, do not air dry. Apply a little food safe oil to the blade, just vegetable oil like canola oil will do, this will ensure that the blade remains rust free.
Never put kitchen knives in a dishwasher, the abrasive detergent in most dishwashers will damage the blade and the wooden handle, this applies to all sharpe knives.
When using your knife always cut on a wooden chopping board.
Blade length:
The length of the blade is measured from the tip to the handle and does not include the handle itself.
Wood handle types:
Pallares kitchen knives are available with a choice of boxwood or olive wood handles. Boxwood is a light colour with tight grain giving a smooth modern look. The olive wood option has a distinctive grain pattern with rich dark streaks giving a more rustic look.
